Your day starts with a morning visit to the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palentine Hill, where you will learn how Gladiators, Slaves and Emperors lived in Ancient Rome. You will meet your guide in front of the Colosseum where you will skip the long line, with privileged VIP entrance into the amphitheater. A licensed tour guide will provide you with a one hour tour, telling you the stories with the use of visual aids, to bring the ruins to life. Hear the roaring crowd and relive the lasts moments of a gladiator, as your guide brings it all to life with dramatic and bloody tales of larger than life characters fuelled by love, lust and betrayal.
Following the Colosseum, our expert guide will continue the tour over to the Palentine hill and the Roman Forum for a second hour. The Palentine Hill is the birthplace of Rome, where Emperors lived from the time of Augustus. Here you will see the foundations of the Ancient City and learn about Remus and Romulus, the brothers who battled over who would found the first empire, with Romulus founding the city that would become Rome.
Lastly you will visit the Roman Forum, the heart of Ancient Rome. Home to the famous Via Sacra, known as ‘The Sacred Way’ where victorious Roman Armies once marched on their return from victorious battles. Stroll along the same roads walked by Julius Caeser and see where his ashes were placed. We also visit the Temple of the Vestal Virgins, where Rome’s sacred flame was kept alive, as well as the Platform where Marc Antony called out the assassins of Caeser, with his famous speech.
During the afternoon you will be free to have lunch and explore the city center, with nearby sites that include the Trevi fountain, Pantheon and Spanish steps. At 530 P.M. you will meet your guide for the Roman Food Tour by night at the Cipro Metro Station.
