About Us

A team of local food experts sharing the authentic side of Rome

The Roman Food Tour – Part of the Cooking Italy Family

For over 13 years, we have welcomed travellers to Rome by sharing the city’s universal language: food.
The Roman Food Tour was our first experience. We started in Prati to reveal a more authentic side of the city through local spots, real food, and genuine connections.
What began as a walking tour in Rome has grown into Cooking Italy, a nationwide collection of food and cooking experiences, born of our desire to share Italy’s regional food cultures with more people.
The Roman Food Tour is simple: show Italian food as locals experience it.
We partner with small producers, family-run businesses, and trusted locals. These partners represent Rome’s everyday food culture.
From neighbourhood kitchens to local markets, each stop is chosen for its authenticity. We focus not just on flavours, but also on the stories behind them.
By working directly with farmers, artisans, and chefs, we offer more than tastings. We show where ingredients come from, how they are used, and how food shapes daily life in Italy.
Though Rome is our starting point, Cooking Italy now brings our local approach to cities throughout the country, expanding so guests can enjoy authentic Italian food experiences in many regions.
If you want to explore beyond Rome, book a food tour or cooking class in other regions of Italy.
Experience our commitment to authenticity, local knowledge, and genuine hospitality firsthand.
