The Best Restaurants and Places to Eat near Termini station
Roma Termini is Rome’s largest train station, with excellent options nearby for restaurants and places to eat, to satisfy all tastes and budgets.
Whether it’s a locally loved trattoria, a popular pizzeria or a Michelin-star experience, or just a snack and a bottle of wine to take on the train, here is our selection of the best restaurants near Termini station in Rome.
However if it’s just a quick coffee or pastry you’re seeking, there are cafés such as Moka by the platforms, alternately a Coop supermarket by platform 1.
Mercato Centrale
Despite there being plenty of great restaurants near Termini station, located close to platform 24, The Mercato Centrale is a large artisanal food & drink market. There are 18 stands from Rome’s most famous chefs inspired by the slow food movement, open everyday from 8 a.m until midnight.
You can find everything from a quick snack to a full meal, however be sure to take a lap around before deciding what you want.

Bonci
Famed baker Gabriele Bonci, known as the ‘Michelangelo of pizza’ has a stand where you can taste some of the best pizza al taglio (pizza by the slice) in Rome, recommended by countless food writers and bloggers.
Favorites include the tomato with oregano and potato and mozzarella, as well as more imaginative choices such as mortadella with crumbled pistachio and 30-month-old Parmigiano Reggiano, fig with prosciutto and my favorite choice buratta with smoked salmon.
Alternatively pop over to ‘La Pizza’ owned by Pier Daniele Seu, for more traditional pizza pie.
Trapizzino
Pizza chef Stefano Callegari created Rome’s popular street food Trapizzino in 2009. “Trapizzino” is a play on the words pizza and Tramezzino, meaning a triangle sandwich in Italian.
Trapizzino is thick triangular-shaped soft pizza bread, filled with slow-cooked gourmet ingredients, including meatballs, eggplant Parmigiana, Roman artichokes and burrata with anchovies, chicken cacciatore and oxtail.
Don’t miss the suppli, with options including original, pumpkin and courgette flowers, as well as a good selection of craft beers and fine wine to choice from.

La Taverna dei Fori Imperiali
La Taverna dei Fori Imperiali is widely agreed to be one of the best restaurants in Rome, located in the neighborhood of Monti, a 10-minute walk from Termini station.
Highlights from the menu include artichockes (both Roman and Jewish style), as well pasta dishes with fish as well as black truffle.
For main courses it’s predominantly meat options, such as lamb, veal, tripe, beef and chicken.
The white chocolate suffle with strawberries is sublime.
Almost everything of the menu can be made gluten-free.

Pinsere
A short walk from Termini is Pinsere, serving oval shaped Roman pinsa, with 15 seasonal topping choices to choose from.
It’s predominantly take-away, with no chairs or tables, so eat your pinsa standing up perched against the shelves, or to go.
A few blocks away from pinsere, are two popular gelaterias to pop in to for a few scoops; La Romana and Come il latte.

La Taverna dei Monti
La Taverna dei Monti is a locally loved restaurant located just off Via Nazionale. It’s definitely one of the best places to eat near Termini station for authentic Roman cuisine. Popular choices on the menu include the pasta dishes cacio e pepe and amatriciana.

Grezzo Raw Chocolate

Established in 1895 Ai Tre Scaliini is a historic and locally loved wine bar in the Monti neighborhood, with hanging vines which covering the walls.
It’s noisy, lively with a fun atmosphere, where the crowds often spill out into the streets.
There is good food available should you wish to eat, with the daily specials written on the blackboard.

Zia Rosetta
Zia Rosetta is a small healthy eating restaurant in the neighborhood of Monti offering gourmet sandwiches, creative salads and fresh fruit juices.
